Transfers

We are praying for all of these missionaries who are being transferred to a new area. It is always quite an adjustment. With their faith and the guidance of the Spirit they will see miracles happen. We love them all.
It was a smaller transfer than usual.  That is good.  It's best to keep missionaries in an area for longer periods of time.  The work moves forward when there is stability.

From left to right:  Elder Cervo, Elder Quintano, Elder Vilorio and Elder Garnica

Elder Saynes and Elder Swim.  Where are you going to put that bike?

New companions, Sister Whiting and Sister Larson.

Elder Latu and Elder Tibbitts.  They got the body of the bike in the trunk.  Maybe Elder Latu can unicycle a wheel to Jesup.

Elder Hall and Elder Frizzell fighting with the bike.  It took a while to get it hooked up.

Trainers and their New Missionaries

The following pictures show the trainers introducing the new missionaries to everyone at transfer meeting. They have spent a few hours getting to know each other.  They trainers tell where the new missionary is from, something interesting about them and what qualities they have that will help them to be a great missionary. The trainers are the best missionaries in the mission and these new missionaries are powerful. Their training will be effective as they learn all the techniques of missionary work and how to teach by the Spirit.

Fresh from the MTC

The departing missionary flew out in the morning and the new missionaries flew into Jacksonville in the afternoon. It's an amazing things to watch. It's very evident what a mission does to a young man or woman. They come as boys and girls and leave a men and women, Men and Women of God. It's never more evident than this day.
Welcome to Jacksonville!

FRONT:  Elder Manning, Elder Stewart, Elder Collins, Elder McMillan, Elder Sorensen, Elder Barley
SEATED:  Sister Carrigan

Meet your trainer!  Standing in the back of the room are the new trainers.  The new missionaries are seated.  President reads off a new companionship and allows them to greet and introduce each other before introducing the next companionship.  It's a fun part of the day.

After the introductions it lunch time!   Always the best time of the day.

Good-bye Friends

Our transfer week was a little different this transfer. Usually the departing missionaries leave on Thursday, the last day of transfers. Because the church has a 'no fly' policy on holidays, Thanksgiving, they flew out on Tuesday before the new missionaries arrived. They were excited to be home in time for Thanksgiving.

Sister and Elder Elliott finished their mission this month.  They served faithfully for 18 months having prepared the hearts and minds of many members to be more faithful in their missionary work.  Thank you Elder and Sister Elliott
