Two years ago today President Barry and I arrived in the great Florida Jacksonville Mission. Words can't begin to explain what we have experienced and all that we have learned. It has been a profound and life changing experience working with all of the fine missionaries that we have had the priviledge to know. If we had to pick one thing that we have learned it would be the knowledge that the Lord guides and directs every aspect of this work. It has been humbling to feel the stirrings of the Spirit in everything that we do. It could only be that way because it is His work and His glory! Every missionary knows that they are only His instruments. It is an amazing work and the most important work on the planet. Nothing compares to bringing a person to the knowledge of this restored gospel and to know their Savior as their Redeemer. We will be eternally grateful for this humbling experience.
For the past year you have seen the work in pictures. To end this second year we thought we could share some never before seen pictures of President and Sister Barry in their real life as grandparents, parents and just Jim and Marilyn!
President enjoying a quiet Poppa moment with Taylor.
Josh and Nana enjoying each other and the lights.
I spend a lot of time doing this but it's a treat to get President involved in the kitchen. Our aprons where given to us for Christmas. They fit the calling, don't you think?
We are thrilled to have another year to serve in this mission. We find ourselves dreading the passing of time and pray often that the Lord will slow time down. Thank you for sending us the finest missionaries ever to serve. These young elders and sisters are the finest to ever serve in his kingdom in all time. They have been reserved for this time to gather in the House of Israel in preparation for the Second Coming of our Lord. Every year that passes brings better and more prepared missionaries. You have taught and prepared them to do this work. With all our hearts we thank you! With love, President and Sister Barry
