Discover the Book
In a previous Missionary Leadership Council meeting we
discussed ways in how we can further the work online. After much inspiration
and discussion the “Discover the Book Facebook Event” came about. It started
with the Facebook group called “Called to Share.” Calling everyone and anyone
to learn about the Book of Mormon! Through the course of 4 different events
over the past 4 weeks, we have been able to boldly and simply share our
testimonies of the Book of Mormon through picture posts. Each week was a
different event. At the end of every post each missionary would put a hashtag (#) of the event, so that it would trend on Facebook. So many people participated
that it ended up actually trending on Facebook! That is phenomenal!
Here are some wonderful examples of our missionaries getting
involved with the members to share the Book of Mormon with the world! Our
missionaries are so creative and fun! Enjoy what we got to see! Hopefully you
did too!
#discoverthebook – took place on June 10th. What
people were invited to do was “Tell how you first discovered the Book of Mormon”.
#searchthebook—took place on June 17th. “Share a
powerful experience you’ve had reading the Book of Mormon”
#livethebook—“Explain how the Book of Mormon influences the
way you live.”
#sharethebook—“Invite your friends to learn more about the
Book of Mormon and specifically invite someone to be taught about the Book of
Mormon by missionaries online or in person.”
There have been so many miracles from this event! All of the
missionaries teaching pools have grown enormously online and in person. So many
people wanted to know what it meant to “discover the book.” LDS Living and
Mormon.org posted about it online and through Facebook. Thousands have been
involved in this event throughout the world. I invite all who is reading this
to please join the group “Called to Share.” We all are missionaries. Let’s help
the world learn more about the Book of Mormon!
