Latino Festival

There are quite a few Latino members of the church in our mission. Every year they have a festival where they invite non-members to join them in an amazing festival. They have tables and tables full of food. All the different Latino countries are represented. Each country has a big display and food from that country. They put on a play, Johnny Lingo, and have native dances performed. It's a fabulous event. There were over 400 people in attendance with at least a quarter of them non-members.  Of course all the Spanish speaking elders of the mission come. It's a great time to socialize and let non-members see what Mormons are like.

Standing: Elders Carty, Osborn, Spencer, Collard, Cundick, Baker, Rivera, Pres. Barry, Elders Gillis, Johnson and Toney.  The three in the middle are Elders Perez, Barrionuevo and Mourra.  Front: Elders Larrocha, Hansen and McArthur

I couldn't resist putting this picture in for Brother and Sister Baker.  Elder Baker's broken elbow is mending just fine.  He wanted to show it to you.  He and his bike had a run in with a branch of a tree.  His elbow took the brunt of the encounter.

Thanks, Sister Barry. We loved seeing all of the Spanish Elders, especially our son - Elder Jeffrey Baker. Thanks for the photo of his broken elbow and letting us know that it is doing fine! We wondered what his check-up said about his elbow. We appreciate you and Pres. Barry. Thanks for all you do for our sons and daughters. It is so wonderful to see how much Elder Baker has grown.
